PlayStation TV coming to US, Canada and Europe in 2014

Update: It's been confirmed that PlayStation TV will launch in the UK this Autumn for £89.99 and will not come with a Dualshock 3 controller, however it does work with this controller and the Dualshock 4, so if you are using it for streaming purposes then you likely have a controller anyway.

The device will be compatible with PlayStation Now, allowing you to stream PS3 games instantly. It'll also allow you to play select PS Vita titles and stream PS4 games to another TV. Other services, such as video streaming and the like will also be available.

Original: Sony have announced the previously announced Playstation TV, which was originally only available in Japan under the name Vita TV, will be available in USA, Canada and Europe this Autumn.

The unit will be available for $99 in the US, no word on UK pricing yet.

A bundle will be available $139 including the PS TV unit, DualShock3, Memory card and Lego The Movie VideoGame.

89.99 , not too bad, I like that I can stream my ps4 games to another tv, ps now not needed as my ps4 will get it, not got a vita so its handy there too but as others have said recently, vita seems to be getting left out anyway

There seems to be conflicting reports as to whether this comes with a dualshock 3 or not.

That's actually not a bad price. I'm wondering if it'll make it possible for me to stream/record PS Vita games? It's a real shame that the Vita doesn't have this capability without physically modifying it. Which I wouldn't do as my Vita is a special edition one. I used to use the Video Output on my PSP all the time. Wish I could on this too. :(

It is a really interesting device, I wonder how far they will go integrating it's feature set/ Playstation Now into their tv ranges? That could be huge for them and potentially dramatically increase their userbase, something I would be really pleased to see.

Sorry about the double post - what memory cards? Does it take vita memory cards? They are still quite expensive, though I'm happy with my 32GB.

For those of you that think that £89.99 is a good price for this machine could you please explain to me why you think this. The US are paying $99 for just the machine or $139 for the machine, a dualshock & a copy of the Lego Movie video game. Now lets do some basic maths. $139 at the current exchange rate is just under £83. Now you want me to pay £7 more & get shafted out of a controller & a game? I'm very confused to say the least???

I don't think it's that great a deal either, if you shop around you could probably pick up a PS3 for not much more.

Femme the device has a HDMI output so you will be able to Record/Stream if you buy a Capture Card. Also the PSVita does have a HDMI output, not the retail devices but the dev ones do. Burner you should be used to the EU being shafted, it could have been a lot worse

Agreed, Loli, it could have been a lot worse. I think we're fairly used to getting slightly done over in regards to hardware pricing in Europe. I think the device itself has some promise, and I can families taking advantage of that PS4 streaming a fair bit. I do think they need to launch a bundle that's equivalent to the US one here, though.

Sony changing the name of "Vita TV" to "PS TV" is not a promising sign of them having lots of AAA Vita games under wraps.

This looks like an awesome device have to say, I understand the name change as it fits the brand of "PlayStation" everything.
