New 'n' Tasty confirmed for Xbox One

Oddworld New 'n' Tasty will eventually launch on Xbox One, although it's not clear when.

Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, creator Lorne Lanning revealed that Microsoft seemed to have relaxed its rule of platform launch parity.

"We've had some talks and I think we're past it. We're past it in a positive way. As soon as we get our obligations on the PS platforms out, our intention is to get rolling on the Xbox platform and really treat it with the same level of care," said Lanning. "We don't have a release date, but we know it'll be before the end of the year."

Lanning later added that the company is strapped for time and resources, so the parity clause was a challenge. "I don't know where it stands officially with Xbox at the moment, but but we've worked it out."

Oddworld New 'n' Tasty comes to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on July 23 priced £19.99, with Cross-Buy support. The team will also release a PC, Mac and Linux version, before deciding in what order to release the Wii U and Xbox One versions.

My list of want is getting far too long. EGX should be a good showing this year then!

I will probably still get this on PS4 so to boost sales, and gives greater chance of the other Oddworld games getting developed too.

I'm really looking forward to this. To this day I haven't been able to save all the Mudokon's on the original. This gives me an extra chance and to enjoy it anew. Though the old one still holds up outstandingly for it's age.
