LittleBigPlanet 3 also heading to PS3

It may have been glossed over at Sony's press conference, but LittleBigPlanet 3 also coming to PS3, according to LBP community coordinator Steven Isbell

So there we go. Sony hasn't forgotten its old console yet, which is nice to know.

Makes sense for it to be on both as its not something that only the PS4 could do.

A PS3 version would be so pointless considering they have LBP hub still to come on that... unless it was canned of course. Regardless, it'll likely sell so little on PS3 compared to PS4 they'd probably have been better served making a Vita version instead.

All they seem to be caring about for the Vita is the cross play. I was wondering about the LBP hub the other day as well if it was still coming. Either way I will be getting it for PS4. Not tried it yet but how is the PS4 for going to someone elses console and signing in to play split screen do you get all your save files as they are saved in the cloud? I know thats how it is for xbox one so I assume it will be the same for PS4.

Saw the best quote about LBP ever yesterday. 'Yoshii's Wooly World makes LBP3 look like it's made from a tramps old underpants.'

I actually hadn't even heard of that Yoshi game but Googled it just now and wow... Nintendo really did seriously just copy LBP on the aesthetics and design there, didn't they? Lets see how they do with the community and UGC features for that one and whether they match up to even LBP1 on that score.

"Not tried it yet but how is the PS4 for going to someone elses console and signing in to play split screen do you get all your save files as they are saved in the cloud?" - Yeah, seems to work like that when I tried it, yes.

One of the most pressing questions I have about it is: will the loveable Mr Fry be providing the narration once more? :D

Cool that will be good to know.

I expect it will probably move to the Vita from the PS3 as I am guessing and it is only that, that the PS3 will be easier to port to a handheld console. The PS4 is so much more powerful than the Vita that I doubt it could be done. For that very reason I can only imagine thats why they have made a PS3 version. I think there is some life in it left

May end up picking this up for PS3 instead, then. I only play this game with friends and I have three controllers for the PS3, only two for the PS4

Nintendo copying Sony? If they did it would be a first, but no. The gameplay is clearly the same as previous Yoshi titles, which predate LBP by over a decade, and the art style, although similar, has a much more realistic and organic feel.

"Nintendo copying Sony? If they did it would be a first, but no." - But yes, it would be very far from a 'first', as I believe I have had to tell you several times before... however deeply in denial you may be about it. "and the art style, although similar, has a much more realistic and organic feel" - This is an utterly meaningless statement however you slice it. Yoshi platformers have been around forever, yes, but this is the first that is clearly taking it's visual cues from another well know platform series... hence my referring to the aesthetics of the game only. Your assumptions (Because you have not played it) about the gameplay are completely beside the point I was making.

That's a real sloppy debate technique you have there kevin. Telling me you've told me stuff before without telling me what you've allegedly told me before tells me, or anybody else, nothing. And changing your original claim that they were copying aesthetics and design to just aesthetics only, and citing not having played one game when you've not played the other is just plain hypopcrisy. Doing the Anthony style circular waffle only serves to convince simpletons, hence Tootell jumping on your bandwagon, anybody else can see that you're not really saying anything.

"That's a real sloppy debate technique you have there kevin. " - You should be glad I actually try to debate at all with someone whose idea of 'debate' usually consists of namecalling and abuse. "Telling me you've told me stuff before without telling me what you've allegedly told me before tells me, or anybody else, nothing." - Forgive me for assuming you didn't have a short memory. I was thinking of that time you got upset about me pointing out the Wii U was a console built around the concept of remote play. "And changing your original claim that they were copying aesthetics and design to just aesthetics only" I was referring to visual design. The level layouts look straight out of LBP. I made no assumptions about how the game plays. "and citing not having played one game when you've not played the other is just plain hypopcrisy" - What? I honestly don't understand what you're talking about here. Could you elaborate?

I would like more ability to do what I want with LBP. It still feels restricted. I want to make whatever I want without Sackboys!!!

I'll take that insult post as the white flag being raised once again, shall I? That's usually how this goes.

Yep usually, you consistently fail to make a point and then give up thinking you've won.

PS, Wii U wasn't copying remote play, remote play was copying Nintendo, who've been doing handheld/console connectivity since the N64 and Gameboy.

None of that connectivity functioned anything like the remote play function the Wii U uses though. First time such a feature was used was on PS3 via PSP back in 2005/6. I believe Lair was the first title to use the feature.

Now now guys why don't we all try to get along whatever the histories!

Wrong kevin, games like Zelda 4 Swords and Pacman Vs allowed you to play console games using a handheld, plus they introduced asymmetric play, something which the Wii U gamepad was designed around with the off screen play being incidental.

Final Fantasy Crystal chronicles done it as well.

I like the idea of the Wii U pad it's not a conventional pad like that on the PS3 but it's different. The Dreamcast tried to do it but failed with their mini GDU. It's great that I could play games whilst the missus watches Grand Designs on the TV

Those games used the Gameboy Advance as a secondary controller via the system link feature. If anything that's more akin to the functions offered by companion apps in some games these days, or even better, the VMU in the Dreamcast, which predates the Gamecube if I'm not mistaken, so even that was someone else's idea initially. It's not a thing like remote play in function or execution. The PSP did remote play first, and the Wii U is pretty much built around that functionality at a system level. I'm sorry if you're having trouble accepting this, but that's simply how it is.

Oh do shut up kevin, the Wii U gamepad was designed around having a second screen and asymmetric play, Nintendo pioneered the second screen with the DS and asymmetric play was first done on the Gamecube and GBA.. Even if off screen play was the main idea of the gamepad it still wouldn't have been the same thing as remote play as that is using a separate device to play on the main console, and the Wii U gamepad is not a separate device, but an integral part of the Wii U. You are clearly the one in denial who cannot accept the facts, but I would expect nothing less from a pleb who couldn't even admit that Playstation All Stars was a Smash Bros rip off.

" Even if off screen play was the main idea of the gamepad it still wouldn't have been the same thing as remote play as that is using a separate device to play on the main console, and the Wii U gamepad is not a separate device." - Clutching at straws though you are, it is a seperate device. One that is bundled with the console, yes, but a seperate device it is... or is it bullshit that you can play many Wii U games without even touching the gamepad(Using Wii remote or classic controller)? Regardless, it is the functionality I was talking about, and it is the same as remote play. Most Wii U games only use the gamepad for off screen play as far as I can see, so how you can argue that isn't the thing's "main" purpose is beyond me. "but I would expect nothing less from a pleb who couldn't even admit that Playstation All Stars was a Smash Bros rip off." - I never said it wasn't. It probably was... in much the same way that Yoshi game is a LBP "rip off". Also, the fact that you can barely get through a sentence without name calling truly is getting really pathetic. How old are you exactly?

No, the Wii U gamepad is not a separate device, on it's own it does nothing, You're the only clutching at straws and can never accept you are wrong.

You two don't get on do you ;) lol! I think it's a great idea (yes the Dreamcasts was VMU not GDU guess I got one letter right lol) as it gives another option how to play. What I would do to play games on a handheld at the full speed. This exact reason is why I want to get an Android I would love to play Resi 1-3 on a tablet. I just don't see that many games that appeal to me on the WiiU whereas the PS3/4 is more targeted for me

It's just funny to me that the trolls and haterz of Sony are coming onto an article like this saying this and so game is better than Little Big Planet 3 when none of these game have even come out yet. Sadly for all the LBP haterz out their, LBP 3 PS4 version will be having 16 layers in its levels and has already won multiple E3 awards :) Let the haters keep on hating ;)

I'm not sure what they're doing with exclusivity at the moment. You never saw Nintendo launching Wii U games on the Wii too. Or 3ds games launching on the Ds.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
