Forza Horizon 2 is a different game on 360

Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 is a different game from the Xbox One version, according to Playground Games creative director Ralph Fulton.

"It's based in the same world, it's based on the same themes," Fulton told Digital Spy in a recent interview.

"Rather than thinking of them as the same game on different platforms, they are different games inspired by the same ideas."

Unfortunately for Xbox 360 fans, this means that the weather system and Forza 5's Drivatar system won't be present in the Xbox 360 version.

"There are things we are doing in Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One that honestly couldn't be done on any other console." Fulton said.

So there we go. What do you think of this news?

So... same locations and courses, same game mechanics... besides a couple of missing features, what exactly makes them different games? How about some elaboration? Oh, and I laughed at the "couldn't be done on any other console" line.

Didn't you read the article. It is run on a different engine, it will be worlds apart graphically, it has dynamic weather on the One. Its hitting a higher res. It has drivatars where as the 360 version has normal AI. If your not a fan of driving games you could say the some about GT5 and Forza same tracks and cars bar a few extras, but why would you comment on this if you wasn't a driving game fan.

I've said it before but I really cannot wait for this. From what I've been reading on Twitter today the demo should land about 2 weeks before the game releases :)

I know, 'Old Timer' already gave us the scoop on this in the comments section of your early June article 'Forza Horizon 2 Confirmed Autumn 2014 Release'. Check for yourselves. I found it an interesting titbit at the time, suggesting they are essentially two different games. That line sure is funny, isn't it?! As if the PS4 won't be capable of dynamic weather systems in racing games?! Oh no!

The xb1 version is a must buy. The 360 version sounds more like Forza Horizon 1.5

I still think the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 will be good, well if the first one is anything to go by, I know personally I had a lot of fun with it. Even though it sounds like the XB1 version will be the one to have I don't think the differences will be drastic. Any cross-gen game I've played so far, whether it be PS3-4, 360-XB1, sure you can see differences but again I don't think it's been anything major.

So basically it's only worth buying on Xbox One? Looks like I won't be getting the 360 version, then.
