Sky Go to charge for a little Extra

Enjoying Sky Go on Xbox 360? Well get prepared to pay a little bit more for it.

Sky Go, Sky TV’s app on Xbox 360 which will also soon arrive on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 is to be turned into Sky Go Extra, costing £5 a month, in order to get the same service you’re getting now.

Starting July 29, this new change will require all Sky customers to pay £5 a month, although you will be able to stream to up to four devices, with the ability to watch offline.

“Sky Go and Sky Go Extra mean our customers can watch their favourite Sky content on a broad range of devices, wherever they are. We will be making some changes to the way in which console users access Sky Go, and we will be writing to any customers who this affects over the coming weeks to update them,” said a Sky spokesperson in a statement to Eurogamer.

Do you currently use Sky Go? Are you happy about paying extra?

I received a letter from Sky about this last week. It is handy for watching a 3rd channel if you are recording 2 channels on the Sky box, or if there is bad weather giving poor signal. However it does not allow for all channels to be streamed, and if they are going to be charging £5 for limited number of channels then will be a rip off.

I don't use Sky Go, and hardly use my console to watch TV anyway. An extra £5 for the same service will be a slight rip off.

I have it on my iPhone but can't see the need to have it especially for an extra £5 a month too
