Cliff Bleszinski set to reveal new project *Update*

Update 2: Clifford B. Leszinski’s new game is a free-to-play shooter and will be published by Nexon.

Currently the game is codenamed Blue Streak and apparently Nexon liked it so much they’ve bought a little bit of Bleszinski’s new company, Boss Key, too.

Cliffy B says it's a PC sci-fi arena shooter and will be giving more details soon.

What do you think of this news?

Update: Gears of War developer Cliff Bleszinski has a new studio known as Boss Key Productions. The studio was incorporated by Bleszinski himself in April, back up by the fact that the official website links to three Twitter accounts: Bleszinski‘s, Boss Key‘s and a third for the title “Blue Streak” which happens to be the code name for his new title.

Apparently we'll hear details of this new game very soon, according to what Bleszinski said below.

Original: Gears of War and Unreal designer Cliff Bleszinski has said that he'll reveal more information on what he's up to next week.

"I'm officially coming out of retirement to make video games again," the developer announced on Twitter. "Stay tuned here for details in the next seven days!"

Since Bleszinski left Epic Games he's been pretty quiet, although he did hint that he would like to make "a PC experience that will hearken back to a certain type of game that we cut our teeth on."

"I don't ever want to make a game that has a cutscene or a scripted sequence in it ever again," he said at the time.

"A lot of these kids playing Call of Duty - I don't think they know what a proper arena shooter is."

Sounds like Bleszinski may be working on an arena shooter then or he could just have new job.

Would this please you?

Whilst the ending to the Gears trilogy was underwhelming, I thought the gameplay experience was, for the most part, excellent so it's good news that he's coming back, and it's sure to generate a lot of excitement. However, I do hope it's a cross-platform effort and not locked to one particular device.

Gears of War was pretty good so I'll be interested to see what he's up to. He's made some really good games in his time.

I agree with Joe on that you usually find that when developers are giving interviews it is all just what they have been told to say by PR, its good to get some honesty now and again.
