Project Cars to be published by Namco

The rather excellent looking Project Cars will be published by Namco in the UK and Europe.

Slightly Mad Studios on Project CARS is coming on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii U and PC starting November 2014. The game has been crowd-funded by which has helped the community be involved in the development process throughout.

Project CARS allows you to create a driver, pick from a huge variety of motorsports, and to chase a number of Historic Goals and gain the ultimate recognition of entering the Hall Of Fame. The game also allows you to head online either in competitive fully-loaded race weekends, leaderboard-based time challenges, or continually-updated community events – sometimes for real-world prizes.

Featuring the largest track roster of any recent racing game with a dynamic time of day & weather system, impressive graphics and handling, deep tuning & pit stop functionality, and support for Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus.

“We are tremendously happy to be collaborating with Slightly Mad Studios on this promising title, in which community expectations are fusing with racers expertise to craft the next generation of simulation!” said Alberto González Lorca, VP Third Parties, Namco Games Europe.

“With a portfolio of prestigious, popular, and iconic titles under their wing, Bandai Namco are the perfect partners to bring our pioneering community-driven game to players around the world.” said Ian Bell, Head Of Studio, Slightly Mad Studios.

This has to be my number 1 racing game of the year. It looks stunning and sounds fantastic. This is how you make a motor sport game. All I want to hear from Shopto right now is - available for preorder!

Forgot to add, it is also (apparently) being developed to work with Project Morpheus. Making it even more epic

The video's look amazing. I was surprised though it went fairly under the radar at E3, as most journalists talked up DriveClub, Forza 2 and The Crew. Those games have the arcade feel to them while this as admitted by the developers is a pure sim.

In Shoptos defence, preorder is not even available directly from Slightly Mad Studios
