3DS gets first streaming game, in Japan

Looks like Nintendo is going to be providing Sony with some competition in the streaming game stakes, well in Japan at least.

On its September 4th launch 3DS users will be able to stream the massively multiplayer online title, Dragon Quest X Online.

As Tiny Cartridge reports, users won't be able to play in 3D and will constantly need a WiFi connection to access the game, which considering it's an MMO is nothing out of the ordinary anyway.

So what do you think of this news? Is streaming the new downloading?

Given how low quality the wifi tech in the 3DS is, this isn't likely to turn out too well. Though given it's apparently the mobile version of DQX that'll be streamed, it may not be as taxing as I'm imagining.
