Wii U system update 'v5.1.0u' adds Wii U to Wii U transfer

The latest Wii U firmware update is rolling out now, allowing for Wii U to Wii U data transfers.

The transfer ports over users, Nintendo Network IDs, save data and downloaded content including games to a new Wii U, which is great if you are upgrading from a basic Wii U to a premium or if you just fancy buying a new Wii U and having all of your data on that instead.

The source Wii U will be formatted, so don't go thinking that you'll be able to have all your data on more than one Wii U.

The update also adds a number of other features, including the ability for system updates to install when downloaded during standby.

Version 5.1.0 U, available via an Internet connection, includes the following improvements:

New Features:

Wii U to Wii U System Transfer

Users can now transfer (move) all software and data from one Wii U to another
A “System Transfer” option has been added within System Settings

Changes to Nintendo eShop:

Users can now navigate the Nintendo eShop using a Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, or
Classic Controller

Improvements to system stability and usability:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

About time. I don't like being forced to use the Gamepad for the E-shop

Maybe this'll shut up the critics who moan on about eshop purchases being tied to the console as if they'd actually bought a Wii U and it impacted them in any way whatsoever, but I doubt it.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
