The Last of Us: Remastered photo mode teased

Naughty Dog has teased the upcoming photo mode for The Last of Us: Remastered and promised to provide more details soon.

The Last of Us gets a new photo mode thanks to a day one patch, which will arrive alongside the game on August 1st.

We're pretty excited to see it, especially if it's as special as the one provided by Sucker Punch for inFamous: Second Son.

What do you think? Are you excited?

Why so serious?

inspector74 - you're gonna have a field day with your keyboard closer to the release date of the remastered GTA5!
Ashley 2 months ago
I'm the same as you Jay, I don't bother commenting on news that doesn't interest me... at the end of the day I know that even if it's not something I'm into there's more than likely an army of people who really want it and it's worth being released for that reason alone. This game might not interest you inspector but no one's forcing you to buy it anyway, thousands of fans begged Sony on their forums to make a remastered version for PS4, is the fact Sony listened to their fans and gave them what they wanted a bad thing?
RTLF 2 months ago
Nothing wrong with what Inspector says, just as many fans begged for a remastered version, people also have the right say they do not want remasters and want new games. Whoever comments most wins, but if you do not say what you want then will never get what you want. While I am excited for Halo Master Chief Collection and GTA 5 on Xbox ONE (or PS4), I would be more excited for proper new releases instead. The thought of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 later this year gets me drooling more than GTA 5 on a next gen console, as can still play GTA 5 on 360 / PS3. If I did not have the Last of US or a PS3 I could still play it by getting a PS3 and the PS3 version, and if Naughty Dog did not focus on TLOU, Uncharted 4 may have possibly been released this year instead of next year, and next year could be playing Naughty Dogs next new game.
superniceguy 2 months ago
Nope! Naughty Dog have 3 internal teams so even if the 3rd team weren't working on TLOU that doesn't necessary mean A Thief's End would be further in development
Loli-Nox-Tan 2 months ago
Odds are they would be working on DLC for both games
Loli-Nox-Tan 2 months ago
TLDR version: While it is good to get a remaster version, it is bad in that something new gets delayed / postponed / cancelled. Things need to move on, especially where thenew consoles are concerned with lacking titles.
superniceguy 2 months ago
*sigh*.... Tony, games on the scale of Uncharted and TLOU take years to develop... the very suggestion that even though TLOU only came out last year, you could've been playing Uncharted 4 this year and ND's next game next year is ludicrous!! In this day and age, DLC, goty editions and remasters/rereleases to other platforms of top games is a prominent fixture. People want them and the developers profits from it so everyone's a winner. You're deluded if you think ND would slow down production of their biggest project and highest potential money maker to work on a side project. That's why they hire more developers and create a separate team to work on those side projects which means the top project doesn't suffer and more jobs in the industry... Did you even read what Nox said? seems like it went in one ear and straight out the other... although I suppose that's fathomable since there's probably not much in between them...
RTLF 2 months ago
This year may be ludicrous for uncharted being released, and it is even more ludicrous to think RDR2 would be released this year, but the point was meant to be *sooner*. I did read what Nox said, but The Team working on TLOU remastered could join with the Team working on Uncharted and get it released sooner, or wok on something NEW. Although if companies can afford more devs then all is great, but the way things keep going these days is job cuts and studios shutting down because they can not keep up, and teams (although ND could be an exception) running on skeleton crews. In years to come there will probably be an abundance of games on the new consoles, especially if Sony gets the Gaikai service going streaming PS1, PS2, PS3 games (which might even get TLOU PS3 version), then it could have been done then, but right now the consoles are fresh starts and lacking in new games, and devs should be focussing to more new games than looking back to the past, keeping the new consoles lacking in titles longer.

I don't understand why Inspector 74 is getting so upset about this game being released. There have been lots of people asking Sony to release TLOU on PS4. Also I'm sure there are some people who have gone from Xbox 360 to PS4 who haven't played this game before. There isn't much else out at the moment and I'm looking forward to playing TLOU again, especially the multiplayer as its quite unique.

Gosh Tony I don't even want to attempt to type out a long winded detailed explanation into why adding another team to the same project probably wouldn't help speed things, and even if it did it would most likely affect the quality of the finished product. I'll leave you with two points instead 1) Every part of development has to go through the director/visionary of the project to be OK'd (like a director of a movie) and there's only so much that perseon can do per day 2) Just like making a movie you can't just chuck them more people to work on it and expect them to make the movie quicker, there will already be an optimised amount of specialists in place taking care of each aspect of the process...although perhaps those extra people could fetch their coffee for them? Ever heard the expression too many cooks spoil the broth? or the tortoise and the hare story which in this case refers to not rushing if you want to get the best results... just like with making a great game, you can't rush it... Damn.. was trying not to be long winded! o_O

ND have had a team of 30 (Out of 250 according to Wikipedia) working on TLoU Remastered since January. They will have learned loads from the reprogramming of the last of us that they would have had to do with UC4 anyway. UC4 will mainly still be in the creative stage at the moment and TLoU port wouldn't take any creative developers away.
beeje13 2 months ago
Sony shound just throw a few hundred developers at Uncharted 4 so they can release it tomorrow
Loli-Nox-Tan 2 months ago
Like I said with all the news of studios cutting back staff, and running on skeleton crews then putting two teams together would help speed things along, but if that is not the case with ND, then great, and adding two teams together would indeed not help. (which is what I said in the previous post)
superniceguy 2 months ago
Good point well made beeje13... At the end of the day Tony, ND are gonna do what they want to do and what's also most financially viable, its their company so its their prerogative. Imagine you realised your dreams of owning your own games making company and then realised that no you can't make the games you want to make and how you want to make them but instead must take orders on what to do from thousands of self entitled whining internet trolls...
RTLF 2 months ago
Still, they could have worked on a NEW game, Thousands may want TLOU remastered on PS4, but millions would buy a NEW game, especially if it is by ND. At the moment there is not much point buying the new consoles, they just mainly have games that are also on PS3/Xbox 360, instead of new games for the new consoles. Why buy PS4/Xbox ONE costing more money to buy games already on PS3/360?

"Thousands may want TLOU remastered on PS4, but millions would buy a NEW game, especially if it is by ND" http://blogs.loc.gov/digitalpreservation/files/2011/09/citation_needed.jpg
Kaysar 2 months ago
No Tony, an inexperienced team without the creative's needed from ND's main teams could not create a NEW game which ND would allow to be released in their name
RTLF 2 months ago
Also "thousands took to the forums to ask for it" doesn't mean only thousands will buy it. it's likely to hit the millions in worldwide sales, especially considering how many have moved over from the 360 and therefore not played it
RTLF 2 months ago
Hey Spear, totally agree with your comments. I still play the online a lot and will be moving to the ps4 version (along with a few of my friends who are really good players) so let me know if you wanna get involved :)
RTLF 2 months ago
7 million copes of the original TLOU, I'd be shocked if they didn't hit around half of that again. There are 9 million PS4s in people's homes and there's been a bit of a dry patch for PS4 games atm
Kaysar 2 months ago
"Dry patch" - exactly. I would buy a new game, but I am not buying TLOU AGAIN despite the dryness. I can still play the game on my PS3. If devs can not create new games any more then the new consoles have become a waste of money (Although the PS4 was not for me :) ). Anybody who has not yet bought one of the new consoles may as well stick with their 360s and PS3s and save money, until the "dry patch" goes away.
superniceguy 2 months ago
I haven't played TLOU multiplayer in ages as I lent my PS3 to my brother, so will be a bit on the rusty side but will definitely give you a shout when I'm on it. I found the multiplayer to be quite tactical. I agree with Kaysar, there isn't many new games out for PS4 at the moment and with lots of people having PS4's I would be surprised if It didn't sell well, and as it's cheaper than most PS4 games.
Spear 25 2 months ago
Just because you do not intend to buy the game again does not mean everyone wont. There is clearly demand and even I'm tempted to upgrade. The game was fantastic and I'd love to play it in greater detail. And devs need time to create new games, longer for new consoles. I think you demand and expect way too much.
Kaysar 2 months ago
Tbh you should expect droughts if you are an early adopter, comes with the territory
