PlayStation outselling Xbox by at least 3:1

Sony’s PlayStation home consoles are outselling Microsoft’s Xbox family by more than 3:1.

According to the latest figures from Sony, 3.5 million PS3 and PS4 units combined where sold during the first quarter of the financial year. According to Microsoft it only shipped 1.1 million Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles  during the same three months.

Sales in Sony’s Games division were up 95.7 percent during the quarter, making for a 4.3 billion yen (£25m/$42m) profit for the SCE, compared to an operating loss of 16.4 billion yen in the same quarter last year.

This increase was primarily due to the contribution from sales of PS4 hardware which was launched in November 2013, as well as a significant increase in network services revenues accompanying the launch of the PS4.

I don't understand what the fuss is all about. As far as I am aware, both Next Gen consoles are roughly identical. Please check enclosed article cutting: 'For the PS4 and Xbox One, Microsoft and Sony both opted for a semi-custom AMD APU — a 28nm part fabricated by TSMC that features an 8-core Jaguar CPU, paired with a Radeon 7000-series GPU. We’ll discuss the GPU in the next section. As far as we know, the PS4 and Xbox One CPU is virtually identical, except the Xbox One is clocked at 1.75GHz, while the PS4 is at 1.6GHz. The Jaguar CPU core itself isn’t very exciting. In the PC world, Jaguar is used in AMD’s Kabini and Temash parts, which are aimed at laptops and tablets respectively. If you’re looking for a tangible comparison, CPUs based on the Jaguar core are roughly comparable to Intel’s Bay Trail Atom. With eight cores (as opposed to two or four in a normal Kabini/Temash setup), both the PS4 and Xbox One will have quite a lot of CPU power on tap. The large core count will allow both consoles to excel at multitasking — important for modern living room/media center use cases, and doubly so for the Xbox One, which runs two different operating systems side-by-side.' extremetech.com I decided to get the Xbox One Day One because of the choice of 8-core jaguar CPU &, to be frank, we've heard PS is more powerful than XBox, on paper at least before, I believe, last Gen if I'm not mistaken & again, to-be-fair, the graphics of Tekken 6, Ultra Street Fighter IV, SF X Tekken, Dead or Alive Ultimate & Naruto Storm ALL look & feel better on the Xbox platform, I'm sorry-to-say. I'm sat here playing Watch Dawgs & Assassin's Creed IV on the Xbox One & I love the way they look & feel; wouldn't trade them in for the World! I am also really looking forward to getting Forza Horizon 2 & Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One too + can't wait for the 3D Blu Ray software upgrade either. This is not to say that I won't be splashing out on a PS4 eventually (I bought the PS Vita in anticipation of it. That whole Orbis thing!) but, till now anyways, still loving the Xbox platform as a whole :) :)! & remember, I AM SOLELY a SEGA, SNK, Atlus, Capcom & Bandai fanboy.
