Someone is suing Sony over Killzone: Shadow Fall's graphics

An American law firm is suing Sony over the apparent "deceptive marketing" of Playstation 4 launch title, Killzone: Shadow Fall. The lawsuit says that the shooter's multiplayer does not run at the resolution originally advertised.

The suit, filed by California resident Douglas Ladore in Northern District California court, alleges that Sony advertised Killzone: Shadow Fall would run at native 1080p resolution but "used a technological shortcut that was supposed to provide 'subjectively similar' results."

The suit claims temporal reprojection is not natively1080p but “a technological shortcut that was supposed to provide ‘subjectively similar’ results”, and as such, accuses the company of negligent misrepresentation, false advertising and unfair competition.

The suit seeks more than $5,000,000 in damages, and was filed by Edelson PC, which has a couple of high profile gaming suits under its belt, including the false advertising suit against Sega and Gearbox over false advertising for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Did they win the Aliens Colonial Marine case? Not sure where they get the $5,000,000 figure for damages from makes it sound like Dr Evil from Austin Powers

Hahahaha... oh dear that is hilarious. I can remember how literally no one noticed the multiplayer wasn't completely 1080p until a tech analysis months later pointed it out. This case has no chance of success, if Sony try to settle just to make it go away they are fools.

If it isn't bad enough to read on most sites about resolutions/FPS first before anything else we now have this lol. I mean even if Sony blatantly lied or not about the MP resolutions does anyone really care? ( well obviously some do reading this article ) but I mean whether you enjoyed Killzone MP or not, did you enjoy it anymore or less when you found out the resolutions were not quite what Sony said they were? what a load of cobblers!

I've been looking for any ads for the game that specified native 1080p from it's launch and I'm not finding any. Sounds like a lot of the case is based on it saying '1080p' on the back of the game's box, just like every PS4/Xbox One game does I believe, with 'upscaling' being the reasoning used because not all games are 1080p(Most games aren't in the case of Xbox One). So I'm a bit confused as to why Killzone is being singled out.

Its only because of the article a while after it was out about it which is why they are focusing on that. I just loved how no one noticed until the article though especially the big fuss everyone is making over FPS and resolution just now.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
