Sony's pre-Tokyo Games Show conference - round up

Sony held a pre-Tokyo Games Show conference this morning and had plenty to talk about.

New Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia president Atsushi Morita opened the presentation, promising details of both PS4 and Vita games and he certainly delivered.

Vita went first, with Zettai Zetsubou Shoujo: Dangan-Ronpa – Another Episode  shown. It's apparently a spin-off of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair.

Phantasy Star Nova was also shown, as was Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3, again both for PS Vita. Other Vita titles include a new Way of the Samurai title, Luminous Arc Infinity from Marvellous Entertainment and so many more that we failed to catch them all.

Apparently PS Vita will also soon soon support themes, downloadable from the PlayStation Store. Themes change the background, icons and music. These will be part of firmware 3.30, which has not yet been dated.

Sony then announced a new themed Vita, before rounding up by saying that over 100 titles will arrive on Vita before the end of March.

PS4 was next, with Sony showing off Destiny, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, The Crew, Far Cry 4 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, before Shuhei Yoshida, SCE Worldwide Studios boss, turned up to talk about Worldwide Studios..

The best news of the day followed, with Shuhei revealing that a new Everybody’s (Hot Shots) Golf is coming to PS4 - woo.

LittleBigPlanet 3 was next, followed by the new Q-Games and SCE Studio Japan collaboration, The Tomorrow Children, a title revealed at gamescom. The Order: 1886 followed, as did Bloodborne, which was dated for February 5 in Japan.

Project Morpheus got some time on the stage, although Sony mention it was keen for people to try it out, rather than show it off too much on the stage.

Back to the games and Kingdom Under Fire 2 and Let It Die got a mention, as did Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War & Nightmare. This was followed by D3 and Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair and news that Disgaea 5 is coming to PS4 in 2015.

Hideo Kojima took to the stage next to reveal that his sneaky Silent Hill teaser, P.T, has been downloaded over 1 million times. Kojima promised news on The Phantom Pain at TGS, so it was absent from this particular conference.

The new Resident Evil HD remaster, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which is due in 2015 was also shown, which is perhaps no surprise to anyone.

So what else is new? How about Yakuza 0, for PS4 and PS Vita and a new God Eater title which is also coming to PS4. If that's not enough, Dragonball Xenoverse and a new Gundam was revealed by Namco.

To round things up, news on Dead or Alive 5, Omega Quintet and Neptunia 7 and something called Fairy Fencer F also appeared.

Finally some more big news.

Persona 5 is coming to PS3 and PS4. How about that?

Ok you want one more announcement don't you? Dragon Quest: Heroes is coming to PS4, alongside a new silver PS4.

So there we go.

Pretty packed show. Lot of interesting new announcements... not least of which being that Dragon Quest games are releasing on non-Nintendo consoles again. Very interesting development.

Joe, Xenoverse was announced months ago. Out of all these I hope we get Luminous Arc. (I think the Yakuza boat has sailed sadly)

'The new Resident Evil HD remaster, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which is due in 2015 was also shown' What, I thought they were two different games.

I'm kinda surprised Fairy Fencer is getting a sequel since didn't the first one flop in Japan? It might be one of those games that are more popular in the west

Yeah they are Gloria and apparently revelations 2 won't focus on Chris and Jill from what I read which is nice. It would be nice if the vita titles like Phantasy star and Luminous Arc came out over here but I won't hold my breath especially for Phantasy Star seeing as the PSO2 english Facebook page has not been updated in 2 years. Best news for me is Disgaea 5 though.

Also if that Bloodborne release date is similar to over here it is coming out quicker than I thought it would have.

Has the Vita been hacked yet? That would mean importing in an option

Hacked as in being able to install patches to games, not to pirate games

Think you can register for a jap psn account, then get another mem card just for that account(or a separate vita if affordable)

"Other Vita titles include a new Way of the Samurai title..." - if I remember correctly during teaser video was a "not equal" sign between "new title" and "WotS" meaning it's NOT a Way of the Samurai game. Even if it looks like...

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
