Beyond Two Souls looking PS4 bound

It's looking increasingly likely that PS4 will be getting another remastered edition in the shape of Beyond Two Souls.

Previously a German retailer had listed the game for release and now the Trophy list for a PlayStation 4 version of Beyond: Two Souls has appeared online. The trophies are identical to the ones found in the game's PlayStation 3 original, but this site seems to have a habit of being correct.

The only question that remains is when the game will be released.

We aren't sure why Sony would choose this particular game. It sold reasonably well, but perhaps they are just hoping to catch those who passed it by the first time.

I played this recently, it's a really great story driven action/adventure game. I think it could be great with refined graphics and maybe a few control tweaks (seems like a game that could make good use of the PS4 touch pad and controller speaker etc). I would encourage anyone who passed on it to give it a try on PS4 - it's a really engaging story with some genuinely interesting gameplay mechanics and great character acting. Yes there is an element of QTE, but not in the traditional sense - after a while you don't even notice the (infrequent) QTE sections as it is based on character body movement rather than specific button presses. The structure of the game is also well thought out, with each 'chapter' being plotted on a timeline so sometimes you play as a child and sometimes as an adult and the story pieces together the more of the timeline you unlock. Because they are standalone chapters it makes it easy to pick up and play in short sessions or play it back to back - a bit like watching a TV series through Netflix. The chapters are also quite varied with some being quite narrative heavy, some all out action, some feel more puzzle based, and others feel more like a MGS game of stealth behind enemy lines... Granted there are always going to be people that can't see past FPS games and online multi-player, which is fair enough, but if you want to try something a bit different, something that you could sit with others as an alternative to say watching a few episodes of something on Netflix then Beyond is worth checking out. I personally hope there will be more games of this type on PS4, games that bridge the gap between TV shows and gaming...

I didn't get this the first time around because I bought a ps4, may pick it up this time but how does it hold up against heavy rain or the last of us?

Not a fraction as good as Last of Us, but it's more or less the same as Heavy Rain in terms of how you play it, but Beyond has a much better story, better characters and voice acting and most of all: no plot holes! It's not for everyone, but it's a worthwhile experience.

Yeah it has a really good story so I would recommend it for that, so much better than Heavy Rain as Prometheus said. Wouldn't really compare it to the Last of us though as they are different styles of game.

I would rather see Heavy Rain getting remaster for PS4 than Beyond Two Souls

Interesting that you had no complaints at all about State of Decay getting a port though.

Because remakes are all that is coming out in 2014-15 right enough. Doubt I will get this, still got to complete it on PS3. Came out at a big time last year.
