iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sell 10 million in opening weekend

Apple has revealed that it sold over 10m iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets in just three days.

It seems that the demand for Apple products is just not letting up and indeed this is a new opening weekend record for the company, beating the 9m sales of last year’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin.

“While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”

Because iPhone users like myself have wanted bigger screens for years, the same reason why i signed a 2 year contract for the Samsung S4 and after a few weeks i regretted switching to android, sold the S4 on eBay for £400 and bought a newer iPhone off eBay, if i didn't still have 9 months left on my Samsung S4 contract then i would of pre ordered and upgraded instantly, but ill just wait and get the iPhone 6s or 6+s next year.
