Latest Charts, w/e Sept 27: FIFA 15 tops charts

Destiny takes a back seat to FIFA 15 in this week's latest charts, with EA's mega sports title claiming the number one spot.

As we all know, when it comes to the UK, FIFA is mega popular and has continued to prove this is the case. In fact according to UKIE Gfk Chart-Track the game accounted for 87 per cent of the UK’s total weekly market revenue and 80 per cent of all units.

Sales are also up 15 per cent year-on-year and 23 per cent in revenue compared to FIFA 14. The next-gen PS4 and Xbox One SKUs accounted for 54 per cent of the market with PS3 and Xbox 360 claiming 45 per cent.

Elsewhere, Disney Infinity 2.0 managed to claim number the number three spot, while Minecraft and Call of Duty: Ghosts make up the top five.

There was a debut for Fantasy Life at number eight too, which should please Nintendo.

Here's the full chart.

Pretty surprising to see that the Xbox One version of FIFA was outsold by bothe the PS4 AND Xbox 360 versions of the game considering that MS were aggressively with marketing the console bundled with FIFA that had an accompanying price cut in addition to trying to create brand association between the game and Xbox to a major degree. The market has well and truly spoken I guess.
