Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel goes gold

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has gone gold ahead of its October release.

The game arrives on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, which surprised some, since it's missing from the latest consoles.

Borderlands: The Pre Sequel takes place between Borderlands and Borderlands 2. It's set on the moon off Pandora and focuses on the rise of Handsome Jack. And if that's not enough, a four-piece Borderlands The Pre-Sequel DLC season pass will also launch alongside the game, offering new characters, missions and weapons post-launch.

"The vast majority of our fans still have their Xbox 360 [or PS3]," Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said back in July. "The other thing is it's the middle game in a trilogy. Moving it on to next-gen and requiring people to buy new hardware to play the middle entry in a trilogy feels a little disingenuous and we sort of want to respect that.

"As we said, one day maybe, I don't know. We'll think about that, see how people react to the game, how much fun they have and whether or not everyone moves on to the next gen fully next year. For now we're pretty happy with our choice and I think people are going to be to."

So what do you think? Will we see a remastered trilogy for Borderlands on PS4/Xbox One one day? maybe, but for now, just be happy that you still have your PS3/Xbox 360 and get pre-ordering.

Look out for our review soon.

As much as I love Borderlands I'm finding it hard to get excited about this. Seems more like a tacked on afterthought to milk the fanbase rather than a genuine part of a real trilogy.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
