DriveClub Review Round Up

DriveClub is out this Friday and while our review has unfortunately been delayed until later this week, some critics are already giving their opinion on Evolution's beautiful looking racer.

So what do they think?

DriveClub Review Round Up

Destructiod - 7.5/10
Eurogamer - 6/10
Gamespot - 5/10
IGN - 7.9
Joystiq - 3/5
Polygon - 7.5
TSA - 8/10
US Gamer - 3.5/5
Videogamer - 8/10

So a bit of a mixed bag really. Luckily you can judge for yourself thanks to the PlayStation Plus Edition. Also, what do reviewers know, it's your own opinion that counts, oh and our review of course. That's coming soon.

It was inevitable the game was going to get shit on, but some of those reviews don't really make any sense, some of them even seem to be marking it down because it's a racing game from the wording ("Yeah it's pretty, yeah it's fun... but where's the passion at?" Seriously, wtf?). I think the primary complaint seems to be the lack of content offered (I think)... which should be helped a bit with the free monthly updates adding new tracks and cars coming for it I guess.

Oh dear, a year of delays and it still fails to impress.

I think it will still be better than the reviews show, but its been hyped then delayed then hyped again so people were probably expecting more, but as Dave has said, I think Project Cars will Shine Brighter than the rest, with The Crew following in second place

also its just an opinion, it could change in an instant as ive not played DC yet, could be blown away, although content does seem a bit small for the price of a game and having to pay more for the content which should have been included in the first place

Gamespot always seem to try and be the lowest. No idea why they seem to hate on most things think they do it just to get clicks to there website.

"having to pay more for the content which should have been included in the first place" - To be fair, most of the DLC (Including all the new tracks) is going to be free for the game. Only paid for stuff seems to be some premium car packs according to the content chart Evolution were showing a while back.

I still wonder why some listen so much to reviews, it's just one persons opinion, like any game, some will like it, others won't! ... I've put about 4 hours into DriveClub today and it's a decent racer, I've personally played better but I've also played alot worse. I guess like mentioned above with the delays the game has had I was expecting ALOT more than what I've seen but again, you can do worse in my opinion when it comes to racing games. Look forward to trying it out online when a few more friends pick it up.

People shouldn't follow the reviews of site like Gamespot/Gametrailers but follow the person actually reviewing the game

Forza Horizon 2 score on Gamespot is 8/10. After they played Forza Horizon 2 they probably did not think much of Drive Club. The graphics in Drive club look better, but the gameplay is so much fun, and there are tonnes of things to do, and especially cool seeing your friends cars drive around without them playing. Driveclub would have done far better if they managed to get it released last year with the console, now Micosoft have manage to get 2 Forza games out before 1 DC, and FH2 leaves DC for dirt.

I agree about reviews it all depends on the individual. Anyway we can all make our own minds up when we download the free version.

Reviewers seem to be treating it like Destiny. They acknowledge the game is better as a multiplayer, which is in its design, but then mark it under the single player portion.

Another massive Sony fail, after being handed the initiative by bungling microsoft pre launch there is only one console id want after launch for games and hassle free networking.......This game always had disaster written all over it, anything that needed a years delay obviously was a mes and was never going to appear as an amazing game

Well what can I say? Graphics stunning, sound brilliant, game play terrible. After all the hype of this game I expected so much more, the way the cars handle (or don't as it is) is terrible, they seem to pivot around a central point on the car, brakes are amazing you can hit the brakes to yards from the corner when you are flat out and stop almost straight away. It does not matter if you play single or multi player the cars handle the same. I am so disappointed with this game, it will be getting traded back in and I will stick to Grid Autosport, where the driving is fun and cars move around and perform how they should.
