Xbox firmware updates to continue on a monthly basis in 2015

Microsoft will continue to update the Xbox One on a monthly basis well into 2015.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed the news on the Major Nelson podcast, saying, "We usually don't do big updates in December.

"December I expect to be a time that we're just going to make sure people are turning on consoles and the games are playing well and everything's working great. That's job number one for us.

"As we roll into 2015 we definitely have a road map for monthly updates. When they'll start up again we'll watch. We're kind of working through the schedules on those things now but it's a commitment that we have as a platform team that we'll continue monthly updates."

It's good to see Microsoft so committed to updating the console, although perhaps we should expect nothing less from a company whose skills are firmly focused in this area.

Glad to see Microsoft continually updating the Xbox One's OS but i for one am so glad that i left the early preview beta program as that thing cause me such must aggro and at times really ruined my experience, i know its a beta and all but when your friends list keeps disappearing, saying your offline even tho your clearly online, party chat problems every single time you wanna chat with friends, many of my games would randomly crash and stop working and i would have to reset my Xbox One in order to continue playing them and some people even have there Xbox One's hard drive wiped clean because of a bug/glitch with the beta which would just download to the console if ya Xbox One was set to instant on mode, thankfully i use energy efficient mode, yeah the beta problems drove me fucking nuts for about 7 weeks right until i left the beta and my Xbox One just magically worked without any problems whats so ever, hopefully i haven't just jinxed my Xbox One.

I left it as well, never had any of they problems apart from the patry issues, it was fine with people in the beta but not out of it. Was the friends list issue not just a general live issue and not anything to do with the update as I had friends that were not in it that had the same issue.

@ Zombie, I had on a couple of occasions the friends list issue and I'm not in the preview. This is one thing I can't fault Microsoft for, the way they continue to update the system.
