New info arrives for GTA V on PS4/Xbox One/PC

GTA V has a first person mode and some new screens and previews which arrived today show that it's pretty brilliant and we'd not just talking about the new mode, but the whole game.

CVG states that the first person mode offers "thousands of new animations for gun reloading alone, no to mention the first-person views of parachuting, carjacking.

"First-person options are bogglingly extensive, with options for Assisted Aim, Semi-Assisted Aim, Free Aim and much, much more, says the site. "You can set first-person targeting with third-person cover, or third-person targeting with first-person driving... the choice is huge. First-person (FP) street brawls feel more hilariously, violently wrong than ever."

It seems that there is a lot more to this mode too and the game itself as the graphics run at a full 1080p on PS4 with 30 FPS. There's also 100s of new songs, new side missions and a game that is "more vivid, and fluid, than ever before."

We also hear that on PS4, GTA 5 uses the DualShock 4 speaker for phone calls & police radio, while the light bar flashes red & blue during pursuits. You can also use the touchpad to change weapon.

Finally, we hear that the game will run at up to 4K resolution on PC. There's more information to come, although we are yet to get anything official from Rockstar (that'll be tomorrow), so we can only go by the coverage provided by some previews for now.

Here's the first person trailer.

Here's IGN's impressions.

Joe when are you going to stop calling the current gen consoles next gen? theyve been current gen consoles ever since they were released, the next gen consoles are the ones that will be released in the future, your a god dam gaming news journalist so you should know how to use correct terminology.

I did think about it. I guess I still think of PS3/Xbox 360 as relevant consoles. I've changed it now for happiness.

I've never used the term 'current gen' regarding consoles. It's out on current gen and last gen? Doesn't sound right. I thought it was last and next cos if you just put that 'a game is out on current gen' a lot would think 360/ps3.

It's all a little confusing. Best just refer to the consoles by name. p.s swear I just saw a comment saying it's 4K on PC. I forgot to add that, will do so now.

Yeah you did see a comment about 4K resolution on PC but for some reason that person chose to delete their comment.

Tbh you would expect it to run up to 4k. While most of us don't have that kind of setup, alot of us (Myself included) like to downsample from a 4k resolution

It was confirmed to run at 1080p/30 on Xbone too wasn't it? Not that resolution is the almighty issue that a lot of people make it out to be.

Try setting a game to 1080p and then change it to 720p, there is a world of difference

720/1080 I get, but it's usually a minor drop that's negligible when you're sat an average distance from a TV (depending on screen size). Just not worth the fuss that the media is kicking up about it, imo.
