Halo Master Chief day one patch is 15GB, not 20GB as previously announced

The day one patch for Halo The Master Chief Collection is now live, The day one patch, which comes in at 15GB instead of the announced 20GB, will download automatically if your console is set to automatically download updates.

Look out for our Master Chief Collection review tomorrow morning. It's likely we'll review the single player campaign first and then review the multiplayer sometime next week when we've had a chance to test it properly.

Pre-order below.

What they should do is add a free download to the market place for those getting a physical copy so that they can download it in preperation for the release... But i know nothing about how patches work or if that would even be possible.

So it will download automatically, ready for when my game arrives next week. Does that mean that for people who are not buying halo they will have to delete it? U2 did something simular on iTunes and caused an uproar. I think you should be given the option to download the day one update to your hard drive, not just forced on you.

So it'll download about 8 minutes faster for me then and JoeToots that idea has already been suggested on the Xbox feedback website, i saw it mention on the Xbox one sub Reddit a few weeks ago so maybe in the future it will happen?

MrG it will not automatically download to your Xbox unless you have already bought and pre downloaded Halo MCC from the digital store and have your Xbox set to the instant on mode, so no you do not have to delete the update because it will not exist on your Xbox.

That's good then, for me it would be great. But I know it would get Microsoft a lot of bad press.

Yeah it would ^ lol, i just set my Xbox to instant on and turned it off so hopefully its downloading the update so once 12:01am on 11/11/14 hits i can go straight into multiplayer working on trying to become ridiculous good (again) and maybe even better then i was on Halo 3, I should be able too considering i am now using a monitor instead of a TV and I much prefer the Xbox one controller as its so much more comfy then the Xbox 360 controller.
