Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sales up year on year

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare managed to shift more copies in the UK in its first week than Call of Duty: Ghosts did on its opening week.

That’s according to Activision based on GfK Chart-Track figures and its own internal digital figures.

Comparing the two is quite difficult given that Ghosts launched on PS4 and Xbox One at a later date than the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions last year, so it's hard to know if Activision has taken this into account or it these numbers are greater than the launch of all versions of Ghosts.

“We are very happy with how much fans have embraced Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as evidenced by an increase in combined retail and digital sales year-over-year in the UK,” the company said in a statement.

“While it’s still early, we think we have a great game that’s fun, engaging and will keep people playing for some time to come. Welcome to a new era of Call of Duty.”

If any further information is provided then we'll update and let you know.
