Layden say PS4 is outselling Xbox One 2-1 as EA suggest consoles could reach 25 million

Sony Computer Entertainment America president Shawn Layden has suggested that PS4 has sold around double the number of units that Xbox One has.

Gamesbeat suggested to Layden that PS4 had "about a two-to-one advantage over Xbox One'' in terms of sales, to which Shawn Layden replied: ''The math seems to look like that.'

''It's going to be a very competitive holiday season. Everyone's going to move their numbers the best way they can. We're going to be fully engaged in that battle.''

Meanwhile EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen, told an audience at the UBS Global Technology Conference that: "Clearly Sony has jumped out to a lead with a great console and I think a great pricing strategy [but in terms of pricing] Microsoft is catching up quickly.

"Pricing actions that are taking place, particularly during this Christmas season, driven by Microsoft, around reduction plus a lot of bundled software, I think will continue to pull the consumer into the new consoles."

Jorgensen estimates that after the holiday, the installed base for next-gen consoles will be "north of 25 million."
