Telltale is making a Minecraft game

Telltale has just announced that it will be going into partnership with Mojang to create a new episodic game series based on Minecraft.

The new game, called Minecraft: Story Mode, will be a "narrative-driven series developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang."

"Set in the world of Minecraft, the series will feature an original story, driven by player choice. It will not be an add-on for Minecraft, but rather a separate stand-alone product that will premiere in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices."

The game will  mix new characters with "familiar themes".

Here's some more info:

- Minecraft: Story mode will be a narrative-driven video game created by Telltale Games. It will be about Minecraft.
- Mojang is collaborating with Telltale and members of the community to make Minecraft: Story Mode as Minecrafty as possible.
- The first episode will be released some time in 2015, and will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices.
- Minecraft: Story Mode will be released episodically, just like The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, or the recent Tales from the Borderlands, which is another developer-collaboration series between Telltale Games and Gearbox Software.
- We’re not intending on creating an “official” story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.

Ruining? They made The Walking Dead better, they brought Fables to mainstream, it's not hard to make Borderlands better, Game of Thrones just started so how do you know they ruined it? & it will be interesting what they do with Minecraft (Though it is stupid)

I agree with Nox, They made TWD much better and TWAU is fairly decent too, Not play GOT or BL yet as I am waiting for them all to be release so I can play each full game over a weekend.

if you really want to look at franchises which tell tale have affected then you need to include Monkey island and Sam 'n Max - both are games I LOVED as a teenager but I couldn't get into the new telltale versions - I don't know why but it just didn't seem 'right'. Walking dead were good though and just stated wolf. Bought and completed borderlands so far as well - they are literally interactive stories and nothing more - all it will be is a story based in minecraft-land - maybe it will be the new series of 'Shadows of Israphel'! - I would buy day one if that was the case haha!

Telltale games are great. How they ruined the walking dead & game of thrones is beyond me in fact they have made there fan bases even bigger. Coz of telltale's nice story telling & gameplay.
