Oddworld New ' N' Tasty dated for PS3, PC and Xbox One

Following that PlayStation 4 release of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty - Oddworld Inhabitants Inc have today announced the release dates for Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 3 versions.

Oddworld fans will be delighted to learn that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will be releasing for Windows PC, Mac and Linux on Steam on February 25th, while the Xbox One and PlayStation 3 versions are planned for release early March.

All versions will take advantage of the post-launch improvements and tweaks made to the PlayStation 4 version, including the fan-requested ‘old school’ control settings, feature the same celebrated QuikSave and QuikLoad functions and of course offer a full rack of achievements and online leaderboards for speedrunners, and cloud saves on Steam.

New ‘n’ Tasty will be available on Steam for $20 / £15 / €20, with a further 10% discount on pre-purchases. Further details on the pre-purchase offer, date and specs for the Windows PC, Mac and Linux versions will be available soon.

They are taking way to long for porting over an ancient game, pretty much given up hope of the Wii U version ever appearing.

This isn't a port of the ps1 game. its a total remake - new graphics, assets, all cut scenes re-done. instead of 99 people to save its about 399. New areas, new secrets, new engine - the only thing that is the same is the story and the main story line aspect. So I wouldn't really call it an ancient game. If you google it you will see how different it is

Yeah, I know it's been polished up and tweaked and all that, but it's still a 17 year old game with all the same gameplay mechanics and shouldn't really be taking so long.

thats the thing - its not all the same mechanics - they are totally re-wrote it, for example flowing side scrolling and not 1 screen at a time, quick save/load, walk normally and not in a grid etc... the only thing the same is the story - so they have literately re-wrote everything

It's still just tweaks as far as I'm concerned, the code may be new, but what they're doing with it isn't. and has been done countless times in a zillion other games.
