Retail release of Dying Light delayed

The retail release of Dying Light has been delayed outside of North America, although the digital version will still arrive from January 27.

"There will be a short delay in the release of physical copies of Dying Light in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia," a statement on the game’s official Facebook page advised.

"As physical production has a longer lead time than digital there is some delay in the aforementioned territories. We will share information on the availability of physical copies as soon as it is confirmed."

The zombie survival game from the original developer of Dead Island is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, although for retail at least, it seems we do not know when.

Read this on Twitter last night, seems strange. Thankfully I'm going for the digital version and it's already paid for and downloaded on my console ready to go.

That'll be a nice little earner for them, how much extra does the digital copy cost, £10, £15, £20?

That is bad so the game is finished if its ready for launch as download but holding back so they can charge more for the download copy if people want to get it for day of launch shocking £55 on the psn in store is just far to much

ridiculous £54 on xbox extra for the be zombie one. seriously thinking about just cancelling this and forgetting about it!

Just cancelled my pre-order, its an outrage that they've only put back the disk version. Just goes to show that the gaming companies are just trying to rip you off

That's an odd one, never heard that happening before for a major retail release. Certainly wont be paying £55 for digital when you can get it £10-£15 cheaper on disc, I'll just wait.

think some of you are being a bit extreme. so theres a short delay in physical release. This could be a bonus as it means if there are bugs, glitches or game breakers then the Digital consumers will be testing it for us and, hopefully, we'd get a patch update upon the physical install.

What are they playing at? Now digital customers are screwed, as the release date has been put back 24 hours to Jan 28th, and disc release is Jan 27th, but retailers may not get stock until Mon/Tue now. It makes no sense that they could not keep the initial dates, unless they got workers to work over time. Also the "Be the Zombie" mode is now available to all versions, so no need to get the expensive Amazon exclusive version any more.

Physical release is February 27th in EU, not January 27th. https://www.facebook.com/DyingLightGame/posts/525583224251395?fref=nf

AH, a case of change blindness! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Change_blindness Same date different month, plus did not expect it to be that long. WOW a whole month, shocking! Amazing Spiderman 2 on Xbox ONE did the same thing last year, but they managed to get the game out within 2 weeks, but before release date it was also seen to have been cancelled / postponed indefinitely.

do any of you guys feel although there new gen games which they should be better the games just aren't holding any value anymore? iv played nearly every title out on xbox one apart from the kids type games and nearly everyone i have bought when iv resold it its went down in price. like for spiderman 2 i bought it just before xmas 2014 and by new year it was only £20 something quid new. just seems the games aren't worth nothing anymore especially when some games on the old gen consoles are still selling for over £20 (Rare Titles)

Maxi how about you write out a list of all the games you want, Don't buy them straight away and then buy them when they hit the £20 mark you're currently buying them at?

There are not many games that keep there value these days only proper limited editions (i.e only a certain amount made) One that got me was Max Payne 3 Collectors edition paid about £75 at the time now you can get it new for about £20. I have now shaken off my collectors edition phase I think.

@JoeToots iv not got the patience for games to drop in price lol plus when its games i want i tend to buy them then and there the only games i let drop in price is games i only buy for achievements like evolve which is on my list to buy once its dropped in price. lucky if i have money to buy games as it is so i buy them when i have money reason i tend to buy games i want when there first released. only own 2 disc copies off games the now due to playing others and completing them but got about 6 digital games on hard drive from freebies and discounted

How stupid are the people paying like £54 for the digital download rather than waiting and saving £10-£15 by buying the physical copy from here or Amazon.... Stupid stupid people ha ha :-)

I don't know about PSN cards but you can usually pick up xbox live cards for £5 to £10 cheaper than they should be. Also I do the xbox sharing with my brother so we can essentially get digital games for half price so I will be getting it cheaper than the physical copy and sooner.
