PSN Members will get 10% discount this Friday

Sony is apologising to PSN members for the network's downtime over Christmas by offering a 10 per cent discount on the PlayStation Store this Friday.

The discount will be available between 9am GMT January 23 and 9am GMT January 26, at which point all PSN members will be entitled to a one-time 10 per cent discount off "hundreds of thousands" of items available in PlayStation Store, including game pre-orders.

Subscriptions to PS Plus, Music Unlimited, PS Now and rental video content are excluded.

You'll be able to get the discount by entering a code at the checkout, although there is no word on what that will be at this time. As long as you complete the transaction by 5pm GMT on January 26 then you'll get the discount.

In addition, PS Plus members affected by the outage will also receive a 5-day extension to their subscription.

Happy?

But that's not too bad then with those sales ending the 21st of January, as there wasn't really anything noteworthy amongst the titles or I had already purchased them at discounted prices during the Christmas period (pre-outage!) like NFS Rivals or MGS Ground Zeroes @ a fiver! More importantly, by the time the old sales will have ended, new ones should have sprouted up; I'm hoping the Crew Gold edition goes to better-than-half-price some time soon + I'd like to use the '10%' off with it too! Not really that pleased with this 'gesture' by Sony; WHY is it just a measly '10%-off' and not an additional '20%'-off + WHY tack an extra 5 days onto one's subscription due to the outage and not a complimentary 14 days extra?! Will have to check out this Pinball Arcade Seasons. I own most Pinball games on the XB1 & PS4 as it is but hadn't heard of that one yet! Also, why are hackers targeting the games companies?! There are more mobile games users than console users I'm sure as I've been tellin' the family so, if one wanted to cause maximum damage and gain most global notoriety, why not target Voda, EE, Sony mobile etc. + why not target those who are glued to their goggle boxes through Sky or other suppliers for 'TV' Services? Why cause a nuisance to the relatively innocuous group of console gamers in comparison?!

At least, we are more interactive with our tellies and not just couch potatoes, glued to a screen! And let's be honest, the tv shows were much more fun when overrepresented by the White image (Farah Fawcett-Majors, Heather Locklear, Yootha Joyce, Gordon Thomson, Lee Majors, Mary Millar, Geoffrey Hughes, Kathy Burke (in 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' at least as the ditzy Ginger!), Wendy Richards, Dee Hepburn, John Gordon Sinclair, Jake d'Arcy etc.). That's my humble British opinion, anyways!

even with 10% off these games are far too expensive and can be purchased at a cheaper price from retailers. Digital games should cost less not more... Also, PSN was down for around 4 days over xmas and this is all we get as compensation? - its lame.

You can use the 10% discount on preorders, and witcher 3 looks like a worthwhile purchase. The 10% discount plus the cheaper psn cards would bring the paying cost down to below £40, making it £5-10 cheaper. The only thing to consider if they will bring out a preorder bundle closer to release which includes the soundtrack and other goodies. I was looking at dying light but there is no information on what the premium edition contains. The xbox ultimate edition contains the game, season pass, be the zombie and troublemaker outfit, and if the psn premium edition is the same then I may use the 10% on that, than wait for retail release.

10% is such a joke, they just turned their 'apology' into revenue day!

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
