Next Call of Duty comes from Treyarch; Destiny has 16 million registered users

To the surprise of no-one, a new Call of Duty is in the works and will be developed by Treyarch for release later this year.

Activision revealed the news in its latest financial call, describing it as an "exciting new game from one of its top development teams." No more details were revealed at this time.

Treyarch’s new Call of Duty game is the first from the team as part of Activison’s new three-year development cycle for the franchise, which means next year's title will be developed by Infinity Ward, before heading back to Sledgehammer games in 2017.

Elsewhere in the call, Activision revealed that Destiny has over 16 million registered users, with Activision saying the number of players "grew considerably" between November and December 2014. It didn't reveal the total sales for the game but it sounds like it done quite well.

Other titles performing well for Activision-Blizzard include Skylanders Trap Team franchise which has exceed $3 billion in sales; Hearthstone and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, the latter of which sold over 3.3 million in 24 hours. 

World of Warcraft now has over 10 million subscribers.

For calendar year 2014, Activision-Blizzard reported net revenues of $4.41 billion, compared with $4.58 billion for 2013. Net revenues from digital channels were $1.90 billion.

As for Q4, ending December 31, 2014, net revenues were $1.58 billion, compared to $1.52 billion year-over-year.
