Nintendo TVii cancelled in Europe

Nintendo TVii has officially been canceled in Europe, Nintendo announced this week.

“At Nintendo of Europe, we continue to challenge ourselves to develop a range of entertaining experiences for all to enjoy,” reads a statement on the website. “Due to the extremely complex nature of localising multiple television services across a diverse range of countries with varied licensing systems, regrettably we have taken the decision not to launch the Nintendo TVii service within the European region.

“Although on this occasion we did not anticipate such challenges, we will always strive to develop a range of entertaining experiences for all our users to enjoy.”

Nintendo TVii was launched in North America in December 2013.

Yep, nobody really cares any more, TV services on a console are pretty redundant anyway, who with a console doesn't already have some sort of box providing TV?

Nintendo wonder why they don't sell well in europe.... try releasing some new games on the wii u more often because waiting 3 to 6 months for any half decent game to come out is ridiculous, Nintendo are still stuck in the 90s where Europe had to wait forever for games to be released and some actually decent titles like fatal frame probably won't see a release over here, I haven't played my wii u in near 3 months because last decent game they released was captain toad treasure tracker and that took like 2 days to completely finish, the amiibo are smart and will save Nintendo this gen but seriously Nintendo next time you release a home console make it a beast instead of a generation behind in power and although your games are for the most part amazing they aren't enough on there own you need to get some proper 3rd party support else mark my words you will end up like sega have, releasing crappy mobile games and publishing mostly awful games. Tvii isn't the biggest deal but don't promise it in the first place if you can't get it sorted.

Oh, that's a shame; has anyone else tried the Nintendo anime channel on 3DS? I think that's pretty awesome. Pokémon in French is just too cool as the standard of the voice actors is amazing, what with the phenomenal use of the subjunctive of politeness :)! Is that channel also free on the Wii U? Guess I'll have to check it out! The same type of service on PS4 is subscription based. Greedy S0ny sods!!
