Darksiders 2 Definitive Edition listed for PS4 *update*

Update 2: Nordic has revealed more details on Darksides 2: The Deathinitive Edition as well as revealing that there will be a large-scale project based on Darksiders in the future, but also said that, for now “it is very important for to take care of the existing games and make both available to a broader audience," starting with part 2.

Darksiders 2 run at 1080p and along with the graphics upgrade, has been tweaked in terms of balance and loot.

Deathinitive Edition Features:

- Darksiders 2 with All DLCs included and integrated into the game, offering a total playtime of more than 30 hours: (Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov’s Axe, Van Der Schmash Hammer, Fletcher’s Crow Hammer, Mace Maximus, Argul’s Tomb)
- Improved Graphic Render Engine for higher visual quality especially in terms of lighting and shadows
- Improved and reworked level, character and environment graphics
- Running in native 1080p resolution
- Reworked and tuned game balancing and loot distribution

Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Update 1: We now have a picture of the box art. Here it is.

Update: Nordic Games, has confirmed that Darksiders 2 will indeed be getting a new-gen version.

No more details have been revealed, but hopefully we'll hear more soon.

Original: Darksiders 2 Definitive Edition has been listed for release on PS4 on December 31 by Amazon.com.

There doesn't seem to be a listing for an Xbox One version or any other details at the moment.

It does seem to make sense that the Darksiders property will be used by new owners Nordic Games after it snapped up the IP after THQ went bust. Arcania: Gothic 4 was also listed on Amazon Germany earlier this month, once again as a PS4 remaster.

Nordic has always said that it wouldn't be against released a third game in the Darksiders series, but would need to find the correct partner to do so. Perhaps by releasing Darksiders 2 on PS4 it is trying to gauge interest or perhaps just make some cash out of its acquired property.

I certainly will not be buying this one, and I will try not to buy any more remakes over £10, especially if they are from the PS3 and Xbox 360 era.

Nordic have already made back their money and then some with the PC market. If this funds a Darksiders 3 then I'm all for it
