Telltale to make Marvel games

Telltale Games, has signed a major new partner with Marvel.

According to Polygon, the first Telltale Marvel game will arrive sometime in 2017, although it's not currently known which characters or universe the game will be based on.

The site quotes Marvel Games creative director Bill Roseman as saying "the studio wants to make authentic games that feel exquisite and sexy with eye-popping visuals." Telltale, of course, focuses on episodic storytelling, letting the player decide on the best outcome. Titles it has worked on so far include The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, A Tale From The Borderlands and Game of Thrones, all of which have went down well.

This sounds like a great potential partnership to us. What do you think?

Hoping this will be more comics based, getting tired of the movies and their butchered continuities.

Hope it does follow the films. They're just gearing up. And with the TV shows being just as good. Hope they do it justice, and with the way Game of Thrones is going, I can imagine them doing it. Hope they have an updated engine by then though.

There has actually only been around 19 or 20 mainline Mario games

Funny, I don't remember Mario having much continuity to shit on, certainly not the way Marvel have shat on 50+ years of comic history.

Nothing in comics is continuity. They reset everything all the time, mess around with things and each writer has his own story to tell. The movies are top notch and run very well to connect to each other. Complaining about it is just complaining for the sake of it.

DC resets it's continuity fairly regularly, Marvel doesn't though, it just creates alternate realities, like Ultimate, MC2, etc and although they do the odd retcon they do not totally reset continuities.

Alternate realities with different historys and different characters and different deaths etc. Now to complain about the movies creating their own universe based on the storys is pointless if you can look past alternate realities and crap like that.

You don't look past alternative realities, you look at their differences and compare them, that's the whole point of them, sometimes things work better, most the time the original is best though, ceratinly in the case of the Marvel multiverse.

Starting to get bored of these TT games - at first it was good with Waling dead, but now GoT and Borderlands and Marvel out as well and Walking dead season 3 etc... Just finished Borderlands ep2 - about 2 hours game with about 10 mins gameplay. I literally could have just watched someone play it and had the same experience. I don't think i'll buy another TT game unless they re-work them so there is more gameplay. Way too much focus on a set storyline with choices that don't make any difference to the bigger picture

on a side note though - when i finished ep 2 of Borderlands, I pressed circle to skip the credits and at the top it said 'TellTales games will remember that' which I found amusing - usually you can't skip the credits and I wonder if that will make a differnece in future episodes (prob not, but I hope that means it knows i don't care about the credits)
