The rumour train has arrived and it looks like Gears of War is along for the ride, as internet speculation has Brink developer Splash Damage working on a remake for Xbox One.
It seems the talk is fairly solid as a few people who are beta testing the game have been in touch with Polygon and Kotaku, with images from the beta shown and information pointing to the multiplayer running at 60 frames per second. As far as we know at this time, it's only the first game getting the remake treatment, although we wouldn't be surprised to see the others getting a release in this one is successful.
Polygon says it's already seen some of the footage too and says that it "features improved lighting and increased texture quality on Xbox One."
Those testing the game have said that multiplayer modes on offer to them include Team Deathmatch; King of the Hill; 1 Life 1V1 Shotgun TDM; 1v1 Sudden Death Gnashers Only; 4v4 TDM Single Round; and 4v4 KOTH Single Round.
This could be good for those who missed out on the game first time around, although people are likely more excited for the new game in the series which is currently in development at Black Tusk Studios.
