Black Ops III season pass is priced at £34.99

The Season Pass for Call of Duty: Black Ops III has been put up for pre-order.

It'll cost you £34.99, according to the pre-purchase details from Steam and will cover four DLC packs, although as you would expect, the details we have on the content are simply listed as 'exciting'.

Are you ready to splash your cash out on yet another Season Pass? Do you feel they are worth it if you are already invested in the game anyway?

Let us know what you think.

This is really annoying me now. I get that games are different than they once were, but the perpetual drip feeding of extra* content at high cost is thievery. *I say extra, it used to originally be included; often as unlockables.

Wow must be some sort of record announcing a season pass 7 months before release!

Oh yes definitely my biggest video game gripe at the moment. This is blatant that there gonna cut maps from the game to sell to people later they dont even try to hide it.

So Activision describe Blops 3 as mind-blowing and they're season pass 'exciting' They can F**k off fortunately I don't play this online, I like the single player campaign and thats it but this DLC hike in prices is getting ridiculous I love Mortal Kombat X but 25 for the DLC I think is steep, now Batman and COD at 30 quid plus for season passes as everyone else has pretty much has said here already and put beautifully by Philip here £80 odd quid they can indeed do one !!!!!!

I agree with all the above, blatant game cutting. it's going to get to a point where I don't even bother with new games on day 1 and wait for at least 6 months. So glad I gave up on CoD at BLOPS2

Just read Shadow of Mordor has game of the year edition announced already with all the DLC. Its only been out a few months ! I am the same I don't play much of COD online mainly because I am just mere cannon fodder to be honest...

Dave and Adam, dont forget destiny expansion pass was the same price was the same price, and i admit I got it, and ill get the rest of em too, I know its never going to stop whether I buy or not , so I buy for the games I really love, but i need to really really love the game to buy the season pass

wasn't/isn't battlefield hardline about 110.00 on psn for the game and season pass thing? plus the tonnes of cheat dlc that came out last week that isn't included in that stupid price

when a season pass is announced way before the release of the game, it means the dlc could have been on disk, so even if only one single person buys it, theyre in profit, the fact that millions will buy it, means Its Never Going To Stop, so this is the future of gaming and we have no control over it
Loli-Nox-Tan's avatar

It's doesn't mean the content could be on the disk. It means that if they delayed the game another 6months then the content could be on the disk
jay.hamilton's avatar
jay.hamilton 2 years ago
you get the gist of what im saying though, could have been on disk not should have
Loli-Nox-Tan's avatar

In theory every DLC release could have been on the disk if they just delayed the game. Just don't buy anything till you can get the base game + the season pass for a decent price. That's how I do things
Bindiana's avatar
Bindiana 2 years ago
so announcing the season pass 7 months in advance, all those maps could easily be on the disk ready for launch as they have over 6 months to get them ready.

(for games I deem not worth it)

I don't think they are even close to having the base game finished

Not a lot of company's actually cut stuff out of the game. They are just in the mindset of "That will do for now"
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston's avatar

I agree with you Jay. The annoying thing is that all the 'extras' probably are locked on the disk (inc Destiny), and like you say unless everybody refuses to buy then it will never stop. Personally, if your going to announce a season pass, keep quiet about it until at least launch
Loli-Nox-Tan's avatar
Loli-Nox-Tan 2 years ago
The Destiny DLC was actually not fully on the disk, only parts of it was. It's a technicality but the point still stands
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston's avatar

I also think what we all seem to overlook is (I believe) it's not the Devs fault, they always get the blame and abuse. It's the people pulling the purse strings and we all KNOW who the biggest culprits are Activision, EA, etc
Bindiana's avatar
Bindiana 2 years ago
Well if the base game is no where near finished why the hell talk about a season passes concentrate on getting the game done. Its like me talking about what I am going to do with my wages from my new job before I have even had an interview for that job.

I don't know about the Dark Below. I think it probably was there as I didn't actually download anything for it. Whereas we had a huge D/L in preparation for HoW

This is why i love CS:GO, £11.99 for a complete online gaming experience. No season passes, a little DLC.

As seen with Dark Souls 2 sometimes the patch right before the DLC contains all the data & what you actually buy is a unlock key.
Bindiana's avatar

I agree there Dave that Devs get the blame when really should be more on the publishers. I feelEA arent as bad these days for that sort of stuff there more microtransaction then season passes these days.

I'll follow up Toot's comment. Paying £7.50 for GW2 and have already got over 100 hours play time on my toon and I haven't even done 5% of the game

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of DLC if it actually adds to the game, and it's reasonably priced. But add-ons, Pay to Win, that's just taking the p**s. I hope that makes sense
Bindiana's avatar

On Destiny I think 34.99 is expensive for the amount of content they have offered in the 2 expansions but for the amount of entertainment it has brought me well over 200 hours since TDB it has been more then worth it.

We've played quite a bit of time together on Destiny, with Jay and others from here, so we definitely have our monies worth

I try to value my time at £1 per hour, so if i get 100+ hours out of a game that i've payed £40 for i'll happily buy a season pass/premium pass. example Battlefield 4 Just on the PS4 alone i notched 141 hours. That is why i didn't feel bad paying £40 for the premium edition on the PC. I know it isn't black ops releated but that's just my general feeling on DLC. Best value for money recently for me though has been CS:Go which i paid £8 on sale for and i'm currently sat on 114 hours.

I like you way of thinking there Joe. I going to use that. Destiny is currently around 500 hours. So any DLC/season passes I'm in profit
Bindiana's avatar
Bindiana 2 years ago
To be fair thats kind of a good way to think about it Joe. I have played destiny for about 550 hours so works out I has cost me 15p per hour. What does 15p get you these days probably not enough for a curly wurly haha.

shit.... I must be the only person on here who hasn't played Destiny yet. I heard it is a "grind fest" so that worried me I would get bored. I work quite anti social hours and with 2 kids and "family time" (I love them all really) I don't get alot of game time. May have to give it a go soon.
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston's avatar

It's not going to be such a grind fest anymore Philip, and you don't need any of the expansions to take advantage of it

I've always seen COD as an £80 game and Im honesly okay with paying that amount simply because it is consistently my most played game every year and on average I get around 400 hours of which works out at 0.20p an hour and at times even I think I've played some COD games to much (MW2) but AW is by far my least played COD game simply because I don't really like the exo suits, supply drops or the lack of perks and kill streaks.

This is already available to preorder on the Xbox Live store, which is too soon as I assume they will take money straight away. I would rather the money sit in my bank for 7 months.

Great series of games its the same price as every other year and it will be great value for money like every other year obviously if you dont like it its not value but if you throw 100s of hours at it over a year its value for money. Personally cant wait for it and they can have my 85 quid right now

No I just dont jump on the childish bandwagon you probably dont even play the game like most childish bashers. Its by a mile the best shooter so why wouldnt people play it and pay for a good value season pass that adds a lot replayability to the game all year round. You sound pathetic to be honest, the sales show that to be true also if you dont like it dont buy it simples really
JoeToots's avatar
JoeToots 2 years ago
Jason, that's very subjective. Interms of you saying 'Its by a mile the best shooter' I will have to disagree with you on that one. I think there are miles better shooters around. Just to list a few Counter strike, Battlefield, titanfall, red orchestra 2 and Arma. Although Arma is more of a military simulator but that isn't relevant. What i'm trying to say is that you can't critize someone else for having an opinion which differs from yours.

Sat down to complete the latest Kevin spacey one the other day, took me 10 hours on single player, which is good as I was expecting 6 hours. Never bother with multiplayer much so 35 for the multiplayer additions doesn't affect me :) if it was say 33 for 2 short single player add ons, skins and crappy challenges then I would find that a rip off.... Oh batman, why can't you be a complete game at 40-50.00 and not 80-90
