Battlefront will not have Ironsights; EA expects 9-10 million sales as of March 2016

Battlefront developer DICE has said that Star Wars Battlefront will not have ironsights.

Patrick Bach, executive producer at developer confirmed the news in an interview with OXM, saying “There are no ironsights in Star Wars, on the ordinary blasters.

“You have scopes on some rifles, but there are no ironsights.”

He also added that Star Wars is its own beast, so you may not see all of the features that fans enjoy in Battlefield making the transition.

“We’re not taking into account what we’ve done before, because I think that would be disrespectful to the fans, and to what we’re trying to achieve here.

“A lot of the things you saw in the game have nothing to do with anything we’ve done before. Some features of course resemble [our other shooters], because we want to make the best possible shooter, but in general we’ve tried to do something completely unique.”

In related news, EA has said that it is expecting to sell 9-10 million copies of Battlefront by March 2016.

The Star Wars title releases this November and EA's estimate may even seem a little conservative considering that the new Star Wars movie launches just a month after, giving the game a very high profile at the same time.

However, going by the series historic sales, EA reckons this estimate is about right, while also revealing that it has a huge royalty feel to pay out to Star Wars owners, Disney, on any sales it does make.
