Sony sets up North West studio to work on Project Morpheus games

Sony has opened up a new studio in the North West of England which will focus on making games from Project Morpheus.

News of the new studio comes via the PlayStation jobs website, although the studio is still in its early stages, and Sony Computer Entertainment had no information to offer other than saying that, "We are still in the early planning phase with this studio, and are currently focused on hiring the right team.

"We look forward to sharing more news and formal announcements in the near future."

Evolution Software, the developers of DriveClub and a Sony first party studio, are based in the North West of England and are thought to have had a few titles at prototype stage for Morpheus, so it's possible that the new studio will take these forward.

Whatever comes of this, we are bound to see more of Project Morpheus starting from E3 and onwards, since the device is thought to be releasing before this time next year.

Are you excited for Project Morpheus?
