Nintendo to stop production of the basic, 8GB Wii U in Japan

Nintendo is to stop production of the basic, 8GB Wii U in Japan.

It's not the end for the Wii U completely of course as the 32GB version will continue to be sold. On the plus side for Japan, a white version of the 32GB machine will go on sale come June.

Currently it is unknown if other Nintendo will follow suit in other regions.

About time tbh - 8 gig isn't enough - I have the 32 gig Zelda one with a 500 gig external (old PS4 HD) - they should have shipped with at least 250gb imo - would have made the transfer to digital games easier. at least they let you install to externals though :)

If 8 isn't enough 32 wont help you much, they are just cashing in on the more expensive version
