2K says Bioshock is really important; lifetime sales revealed

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said that the Bioshock series remains an important part of the publisher's portfolio.

Speaking during the Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference in New York, Zelnick revealed that the BioShock franchise has sold more than 25 million copies, with Bioshock Infinite making up 11 million of those sales.

“It’s a really important intellectual property for the company,” Zelnick said. “And while I don’t have any announcements to make, yes, it’s a really important franchise for us.”

This is interesting news as on February 18, 2014, Irrational Games head, Ken Levine announced that the studio would be closing down, with fifteen members of the staff to follow Levine to focus on digital only, narrative-driven games for Take-Two. All of this means that the Bioshock series has likely been handed to another 2K studio.

The only remake I would like to see is fallout 3, optimized for win 10 and the current gen consoles, as it does not run well on win 7 or later, and will probably fail to run completely on win 10.

I played Fallout 3 again recently on PC to experience some of the mods, played it on 8.1 with no problems at all, bar some initial tweaking...

The other games that have been remastered have had no problems, and fallout 3 could do with it. It is a bit weird on win 7 or later. On the steam forums the first page is always filled with people having problems. Some can play for hours without issue, and no need for tweaking, then all of a sudden problems start, and is fixed with some tweaking. I tweaked the game too, but I keep getting a nagging feeling that it will crap out, and my progress / save will get corrupted or something. Plus the game was released early in the last generation, where it did not push the consoles to the limit, unlike a lot of recent remasters, so there should be a lot more noticeable improvements.

wouldn't surpirse me if they pass it to telltale to do a bloody story on it! Borderlands is strange as a telltale game and minecraft! that will be bloody terrible. Bioshock may work, just with more action - the telltale now feels like interactive stories where the only way you interact is to walk a few steps and press X/A then watch for 15 mins then do the same. They are good but getting too heavy on quick time and talking. Thing is with the ps4, re-masters aren't really needed now we have PSNow - as iu said the other day - in the beta it has game me GOW 3 for free for a month - except for pretty graphics and 60fps why would i buy a remaster when the original with the same gameplay is there?
