PlayStation Now arrives on Samsung's 2015 Smart TV's in North America and Canada

PlayStation 3 games now available on non-Sony devices as the services arrives on Samsung's range of 2015 smart televisions across North America and Canada.

While this is specific to North America and Canada at the moment, it's still an interesting development to see PlayStation Now, which allows gamers to play selected PlayStation 3 titles via the cloud using only a DualShock 4 controller, arrive on non-Sony TV's.

Currently the service costs $19.99 per month or $44.99 for a three month plan, although Samsung owners get a one week trial.

"It's not necessarily the future of PlayStation, but it is a philosophical change and a reality that we want our gaming experiences to be broadly experienced," said Sony Computer Entertainment America's marketing VP John Koller of the service in 2014, as recalled by Games industry.biz

"We've been very open and bullish on physical consoles. So I don't think PS Now necessarily disenfranchises future consoles in any way. But it does, I think, show our willingness to try and focus on content as primary. Really, again, focusing on the gamer first - obviously they want great content, great experiences. Those experiences can be had in many different places. So it's more of an open position now."
