Doom brings its 'A' game to E3

Ok so our gaming news alarm woke us up at 3am to watch the Bethedsa conference and we are so glad it did, because the developer/publisher had a stormer.

The first game up was Doom and it looked incredible. Given a spring 2016 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the reboot features fast player movement, extreme violence and more weapons than you can swing at demon at.

There's no doubt that it is packed with some pretty graphic scenes, which is helped by it running on id Tech 6.

A short teaser of Doom Multiplayer was also shown, but perhaps the biggest surprise was Doom Snapmap, a system designed to let players of any experience, from beginners to experts, create custom game maps and modes, and then share them online. It looked very impressive.

You can pre-order on ShopTo now and why wouldn't you?

Can't remember the game, think it was Time Splitters 3 or unreal tournament - but there was one with the same kind of level editor on consoles - you snap together the level pieces you want, with ramps and stuff, then pick the skin and boom - instant levels. Was fun, so I can see this being a big thing - Hopefully you can share something done on a pc with console as well - although this would mean it is done in their servers (like trials fusion/evolution) rather than something like steam workshop

Looks pretty good, but at the end of the day, it's just yet another FPS?
