Playtonic Games' Yooka-Laylee has reached it's Kickstarter goal

Playtonic Games, a studio made up of the ex-RARE developers responsible for the likes of Donkey Kong County and Banjo & Kazooie, are celebrating today as their Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee has wrapped up, netting them over £2 Million.

The goal for the game was only £175k, so as you can imagine the game has managed to reach all of its stretch goals and backers and Paypal customers will be get free extra content as a reward.

"Yooka-Laylee’s success has been well beyond any of our expectations," Playtonic Games’ Andy Robinson said to Eurogamer. "Now it’s heads down. We’ll obliviously keep up with fans via social media, but hopefully the next time that the public see the game it will be much more advanced."

Composer Grant Kirkhope added "I’ve worked with those guys for years. Myself and them [The UK Playtonic team] are massively impressed and humbled."

Expect more details in the near future.
