Sony to release 1TB PS4 *update*

Update: We have contacted Sony and it has now been confirmed that the new 1TB PS4 for Europe uses the original PS4's innards and is therefore not lighter and uses the same amount of power as before. It's also glossy as seen in the picture.

Original: Sony has announced that the 1TB PS4 is coming to Europe, the same as which has been announced for Japan.

The new model not only gives you more storage, but it's also 10 percent lighter and uses less power than current models.

In addition to the above, the surface of the console's HDD bay cover now comes in a matte finish.

Our PS4's all have 2TB HDD's, it's not really that tricky to upgrade your PS4's HDD, however if you are buying a new system, then the more storage you have to begin with the better really.

The console launches on July 15.

haha, so the european version is pretty much the 500gb version with a 1tb in it? They need to allow for USB drives to save games on or release with 2tb - 1tb isn't enough with almost every game requiring a 40-50GB install even though you are playing off the disk

I agree 2tb should be standard on ps4 and xbone. 500gb and 1tb just aren't big enough with games like master chief collection taking up 60gb.
