Update 1: DriveClub PS Plus Edition is out now. You can download it from the PlayStation Store.

Update: Sony has announced that the PlayStation Plus Edition of DriveClub will launch tomorrow.

"We’ve spent a long time preparing for this launch after some difficult and unexpected set-backs,” said Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida. “To make absolutely certain that all players have the smoothest and most stable experience possible we are going to be duly cautious about how we release the game this time around."

All PS Plus members can download Driveclub PS Plus Edition and begin playing the offline mode tomorrow, while online access to this edition will be rolled out steadily to bring more and more players online, while ensuring all game systems are running smoothly.

“We are taking extra precautions to protect your experience when you do get online,” added Yoshida. “We want to make sure we don’t overload the servers as we invite millions of PS Plus members to download the game tomorrow.”

DriveClub was released back in October and Driveclub PS+ Edition was due to launch around the same time, however due to various issues it was put back.

Original: Driveclub PS Plus Edition appeared on the PlayStation Store, although the links didn't work and it was pulled soon after.

"We’re preparing to launch Driveclub PS+ Edition & will have news for you soon,” Sony said on the racer’s Facebook page.

"The Store update today with the Driveclub PS+ Edition was premature. The servers aren’t ready yet, so it's been removed while we get them ready. Apologies on their behalf for any confusion and inconvenience caused."

Hopefully the PS Plus Edition will be ready soon. We imagine, with the link appearing on the store, that it will be.

dunno why they are even bothering now - they should just make it next months PS plus free game and give everyone the full version. no changes needed then! (they should have done this months ago when they first had issues)

Suggest people give it a go. Very enjoyable. Hope it doesn't cause server problems.

I agree with DynamiteWhyte, people should give this a go, it's not a bad racer but this is how long too late? Absolute shambles by Sony. They really need to give us some news about Grand Turismo ( if there is any ) PS4 is severely lacking any 'great' racing games.

@ Jason. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't be without my PS4 but it seemed to come out of the blocks flying, now it's just plodding along! It seems all it's big titles are way off, rumours games like No Mans Sky, Uncharted could be pushed back further. For me the PS4 in 2015 is lacking, I hope 2016 Sony pull their finger out and start delivering on this .... "Greatness Awaits" ... there's a lot of impatient and restless gamers out there.

Plodding along? They've released the bigger games so far this year and have multiplats like Witcher and Batnan recently released. Strong multiplat lineup coming with a new IP (Until Dawn) out soon.

Ok, Xbox has the edge on racing games, for one I'm a fan of Forza Horizon, but what else? Seems the moment Sony have an issue with one game it's gunned down
