Final Fantasy VII's PC port arrives on PS4 later this year

The Final Fantasy VII remake announced at E3 is likely a few years away, however in the meantime, you'll be able to try out the PC port of Final Fantasy VII's original Playstation release which will arrive on PS4 later this year.

The PC re-release comes complete with achievements, the ability to save your game anywhere using cloud and a new character booster, which reduces grinding.

There's no word on there being any other new features at the moment, but we don't expect too many as Square focuses its attention on the remake.

this will be good, if it comes out for around 7.99, although i'm guessing it will be 11.99 - 14.99. Will be the new PC version as well with achievements, I just hope they have disabled the cheats - in the PC version you can 'opt' to have everyone at level 99 straight away and all ultimate weapons - this kinda defeats the object of the game in my opinion.

Does this have upgraded graphics? I had heard that there was a moded PC version where the music and graphics had been improved, is that what this is?

this is literally the original FF 7 but in 1080p - but the assets are the same, with the original hand drawn backgrounds. People have modded Advent Children models into the game on the PC but that was never official. It will look like: http://store.steampowered.com/app/39140/ -- full remake one is going to be in a few years

Will anyone actually buy this due to the imminent news of the remake? This has to be like the 20th re-release of the original. Not that it's a bad game. If they mess up the combat system of any other great aspects of the original I'll be playing this version in protest!
