Ubisoft Q1 revenue is above expectations; PS4 sales lead the way

Ubisoft’s digital revenues totalled €54 million for Q1 2015, according to the companies latest financial report.

The firm expected revenues to decline for the quarter when compared to Q1 last year, however due to a 59% increase in back-catalog sales of €91.6 million and “the better-than-expected performance” of Assassin’s Creed Unity, sales for Ubisoft’s Q1 came to €96.6 million.

Sales were down year-over-year by 73.2%, but still beat its own expectations.

Interestingly, Ubisoft also revealed that PS4 is its leading platform, representing 27% of all revenue for Ubisoft games in the quarter ending June 30, 2015.

PC was in second place with 23%, while PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 make up the rest of the sales, each with about 11% of revenue.

The Wii and Wii U combined represent just 3% of Ubisoft’s software sales revenue. The remaining 14% of revenue includes 3DS, Vita and mobile.
