China lifts more restrictions for consoles; Can now be made and sold anywhere in the country

China's Ministry of Culture has issued a statement saying that companies can now make and sell consoles anywhere in the country.

Consoles where allowed back into the country last year, but were only allowed to be sold in Shanghai's free trade zone. Consoles have been banned since 2000 as the government was worries that 3D worlds may affect children, however with PC and mobile taking off, the ban on consoles has become irrelevant.

All content released for consoles will still need to be approved by the Chinese regulators, however, it seems likely that Sony and Microsoft will be more concerned about how to turn people's attention away from PC and Mobile, which are by far the most dominate forms of entertainment in the country.
