Windows 10 roll out begins; have you upgraded?

It may not be strictly gaming related, but we'll tell you anyway because it's kind of important - The Windows 10 roll out is now underway.

The latest version of Microsoft's operating system will be arriving as a free upgrade for anyone currently using Windows 7 or 8. You can request a copy of your own via the Windows logo at the right of your taskbar, providing your current version is up to date.

Everyone who has requested Windows 10 may not get it this week as Microsoft is slowly rolling it out, but you should all be able to install the upgrade soon.

For Xbox One users, the important arrival is the ability to stream Xbox One games to PC and Microsoft tablets.

Are you excited for Windows 10?

Apparently it's been "stealth" installing on people's systems (which has caused upsets for those on capped broadbands). Also, it's not actually going to be released until midnight EDT (which is five hours behind us)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 You can download the OS there, and simply choose the option to "Upgrade now" in the file thats downloaded. It saves all the waiting around. Its a decent OS, if you are on windows 8/8.1 then I would recommend the upgrade. If you are on 7, you will most likely update within the year.

thanks Elliott - downloading now - was fed up waiting for it to kick in. I have 8.1 and had it since day 1 as windows 8 - never had any issues, made the start menu come back and used as normal, but faster and more efficient than win 7. May as well jump on 10 and use it - don't really have any incompatibilities these days

seems to be running a bit faster and smoother than 8.1 - i'm impressed - don't like the start menu though

I don't see any diff in performance, giving Edge a shot, no right click words to google is a pain though...
