Latest Charts, w/e Sept 5: The Phantom Pain hits top spot

As if there was any doubt, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is this week's number one, selling an impressive amount of units and becoming the third fastest selling game of the year so far, behind Arkham Knight and The Witcher III.

PS4 took a commanding 72% share of sales of the game over Xbox One which has 22%, while PS3 edges to a 3% share over Xbox 360 with just 2%.

Mad Max also sold pretty well, seeing it land in second place, although its sales were dwarfed by Konami's 'AAA' treat (our review very very soon, for both titles, sorry for the delay).

Elsewhere in the latest charts, Gears of War and Until Dawn dropped to third and fourth places respectively, while Disney Infinity took fifth spot and GTA V, LEGO Jurassic World, Minecraft: PlayStation Edition and Xbox Edition and Batman Arkham Knight round up the top 10.

Broken Sword 5, another new entry, came in at 35th place.

Remember, these are only retail sales, so digital sales are not counted, hence the reason for PC being unmentioned with regards to MGS.
