Three Fields Entertainment working on 'Spiritual Succesor' to Burnout

Three Fields Entertainment is a new, independent studio headed up by ex-Criterion heads Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry and it is creating both a new "multiplayer sports game" and a spiritual successor to Burnout.

Posting on twitter, the studio revealed that its first title will be the "multiplayer sports game," which will arrive in spring 2016, before adding that it would, "then make a driving game."

"What sort of driving game you ask? A spiritual successor. Speed. Traffic. And Crashing. Lots and lots of crashing. #ShinyRedSomething."

"Spiritual successor to which one though???" it continued. "The second, the third or the fourth one?? #decisions"

Shiny Red Car was the project name for the first Burnout title, as if the references to the series weren't obvious enough. Currently the studio employs 9 people so any game released may not be on the same scale as the 'AAA' titles that we are used to seeing in the Burnout series, although that doesn't mean it won't be any good.
