Halo 5: Guardians Review

Where the original Halo was Combat Evolved, first person shooters have themselves evolved, with every new generation of hardware pushing what was possible before. Bungie created a monster for Microsoft, the Master Chief becoming as famous as Mario and Sonic, a true figurehead for an older fan base.

Now 343 Studios are at the helm, its well regarded Halo 4 managed to keep faithful to the Halo series whilst also bringing in their own ideas and now we have the ever difficult "second album" and whilst there are some fantastic moments, Halo 5 feels very different to what came before.

With a single player campaign of 15 missions, this game is best played online, adding more depth with four player co-op and alongside the classic arena modes like slayer and capture the flag a new and exciting Warzone mode, with huge teams pitching against each other, carrying out missions whilst also battling computer controlled opponents. This open battlefield is a great addition to the Halo series.
