PS4 sales now 'Well Over' 25 Million, says Denny *update* 29 million PS4's shipped

Update: Sony has now revealed that it shipped 4 million PS4 units to retailers during Q2, bringing global total shipments to over 29 million to date. This ties in with the quote below from Michael Denny.

Original: PS4 console sales are now "well over 25 million", according to SCE Worldwide Studios VP Michael Denny.

Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz, Denny said, "I don't think there's a better time to buy into PlayStation and PS4 particularly.

"Our installed base now is well over 25 million. That gives us a massive community of gamers, supported by a lot of new community features. We've got great games out there, more coming through. We're looking forward to 2016, it's an exciting time."

The 500GB PS4 is now officially £299.99, although if you look around ShopTo you can generally pick it up at that price with a bunch of games too. In addition, you'll also find limited edition consoles based on the Destiny, Black Ops 3 and Star Wars Battlefront franchises.

With Sony adding to its already stellar 2016 line up last night and with plenty of bargains on offer this holiday, it seems certain that PS4 sales will only continue to grow.
